About Us (Our Story)

In response to unmet needs of area residents who wanted to remain in their own homes, Doug and Mary Wills started United Nursing Services in 1972. At that time, no other agencies were making home calls after office hours. Area physicians needed nurses for home patient assessments and treatments.

Over the years, United Nursing expanded its services to include a Medicare certified agency; UNS Home Health Agency.  UNS Home Health Agency sought and obtained additional accreditation and is the recipient of quality improvement awards. We are proud to participate in many local, state and national committees and research and development projects.

Today, United Nursing Services and UNS Home Health Agency continue to be recognized as a community of health care workers that go beyond the routine to provide the best possible service. We are forward thinkers in the development of new home health care delivery approaches and yet remain grounded on our foundation:

• To deliver professional in-home health care services, day in and day out.
• To select and train dedicated staff to care for the homebound and to assist them in maintaining dignity and independence.
• To serve the whole person; the emotional as well as the physical needs of patients.
