Frequently Asked Questions
- Are any of your services covered by insurance?
In many cases the answer is yes. Certain criteria need to be met; such as being homebound, being under a physicians care, and needing intermittent skilled care of a nurse or therapist, for Medicare and some others to pay. We are happy to check your long term care policy and other insurances for you.
- What if insurance doesn’t cover my care?
Our services are available to purchase privately. You may purchase 2 hours to 24 hours of service a day, any or all days of the week. Services can be increased or decreased as you desire. You do not need to have a physicians order to purchase care privately.
- What insurance do you accept?
Long term care, auto insurance, workers compensation, Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS and many other commercial insurances. We will verify insurance coverage for you.
- How much does it cost to pay for services out of pocket?
We have competitive rates for all of our services. Please call us at (269) 226-9363 (Kalamazoo), (616) 878-7021 (Byron Center) or toll free at (888) 882-5005 to speak with a representative and hear our current rates.
- What payment options do I have?
We will verify any insurance coverage first. For services not covered by insurance, we bill the responsible party weekly. Invoices are due upon receipt.
- How soon can you start services?
Generally we start services within 24 to 48 hours of referral. A registered nurse makes an assessment visit and completes your personalized plan of care. We frequently can begin services on the same day of referral when circumstances allow.
- What is your service area?
We serve the residents of Kalamazoo County and southern Kent County, and portions of the surrounding counties (Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Ottawa, St. Joseph and Van Buren).
- What if I need help after business hours?
We have a scheduler, registered nurse and administrator on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assist our clients and their families.
- How is your staff trained?
Our staff is carefully screened prior to hire with testing, skill level assessment, reference checks and criminal background checks. Staff is oriented and inserviced regularly. All professional staff hold current licensure and must meet continuing education unit requirements imposed by the state.
- Are your employees bonded and insured?
Our for-profit agency holds professional and general liability policies on all staff.
- What if I no longer need services?
Services can begin and end as needed. Hours can increase or decrease at client request or as circumstances warrant. We appreciate advance notice when services are to end so staff can be reassigned. When insurance covered care ends, you may choose to purchase services privately.
